I hesitated to buy it for my family with daughters because many people in the reviews could not understand the instructions. Her kids are 9 and 11 so I was worried they wouldn't be able to play. But so many people liked it, so I gave it a go. Turns out my daughter already has it. My granddaughter taught me how to play and it's really fun! Check out the reviews and read people's advice, it's actually pretty easy to learn and their advice really helps! I went ahead and kept the ones I bought for her! I like your idea of laminating some of the sheet music as you will use them up very quickly.
