I couldn't get it to work consistently. My device only had one possible plug on one side, so I knew it was plugged in properly, and I did get it to turn on once, so I knew it wasn't a problem with the LEDs themselves.So I got annoyed, and then curious, and then I went into full on testing mode. I tried it in every outlet in the kitchen. I even tried it with surge protectors. Then I wandered into the bathroom. It worked, responding to a nice little tap to the metal. I tried it in the living room. It also turned on and off consistently at my touch.Relieved, I took it back into the kitchen. No cooperation. Then I tried holding it for several seconds, and THAT worked. Then I had to hold it for several seconds to turn it back off. I hate returning things, so I thought I could live with it, but then I went to turn it off after it had been on a while, and it was uncomfortably hot to the touch. That was the last straw, and back it went. I assumed it was poor house wiring, or possibly the device disliked GFCI outlets, except there was also one in the bathroom. It worked very well in the living room, so I would still recommend this device to anyone who doesn't want to use it in my kitchen. It gave off a nice, bright color (when it worked) and was a sleek, simple design.
