I'll begin with a massive negative, which is the primary reason why I gave this adapter such a low rating: At home, I have a gaming laptop, two inexpensive ones that I use for work, and a graphics station for which I purchased an adapter. In total, I have three laptops. The computer and the router are separated by approximately ten meters and two walls made of concrete. The router can be found in the kitchen. So, this TP-LINK is completely oblivious to its presence! And all three laptops are able to connect to the kitchen router without any issues, maintaining a stable connection (the signal strength is between 70 and 80%), and not losing the speed that was advertised by the service provider while doing so from the same location as the system unit. There are also some positive aspects: There has been a delay of around 2 minutes between the opening of the package and the beginning of the work. When used on Windows 7 x64, both the drivers and the utility may be brought up in a very short amount of time and without any issues. And despite the fact that the utility itself is not available in 2022, not even on the official website, a youngster as young as five would have no trouble using it because everything is so straightforward. My primary Internet connection is located in the room that houses the system unit itself, and I also have a backup Internet connection there. For more than 2 years, this Internet connection has been continuously broadcasting through a wonderful netgir router. Because the system unit is situated only a half meter away from it, TP-LINK is able to maintain its connection to at least this network. I loaded the torrents to their maximum capacity, during which time I did not experience much overheating and I did not notice any interruptions. If someone wants to buy this whistle instead of the one that is already built into their laptop, the answer is a resounding "NO!" Built-in work much better (tested on cheap Dell, Asus and expensive HP). - A person SHOULD NOT PURCHASE this adapter if they wish to use it in a desktop computer and the access point is far away, especially if it is via 1-2 walls. Even if you open the casing of the adapter itself, it won't make much of a difference, so you'll need to solder on at least a couple more antennas that are at least 5 dBi each. It won't be able to pick up the signal at all. - if a person wants to use this adapter in a desktop computer and he does not want normal, but bulky adapters, the router is half a meter (maximum one meter) from the computer, and there are no concrete walls between them, THEN YOU MAY BUY THIS ADAPTER; - When it comes to bells (flash drive adapters), TP-LINK isn't as awful as some other brands.
