If you have a Tormack (I bought mine many years ago) and you like sharp knives then this tool is for you. I have used diamond steel to sharpen kitchen knives but the results have been disappointing. When slicing the tomatoes (my wife loves them) I either crushed them or sawed them back and forth lightly to break the skin and start slicing. After sharpening and honing my chef's knife on a Tormack product, the knife cut through leather so well that I was able to cut slices thin enough to read newspaper prints. Cutting potatoes (which we both love) takes almost more effort than a tomato. A sharp knife is fun. Then I sharpened all the knives in the house. Also suitable for paring and steak knives. It took about 5-10 minutes for one knife. I set the angle at 25 degrees to the stone with a Tormack goniometer. I had to raise the support arm on the grinder about 2 inches above the level of the chisel. You will be proud of the benefits it offers you!
