Review on πŸ” Efficient and Portable: Intex Quick-Fill Air Pump Series for Quick Inflation by David Ross

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A near perfect inflation solution Equipment and accessories

After speaking to Intex about which pump to buy to inflate my Intex Challenger K1 kayak, I purchased this model. It did a good job of inflating the seat and footrest as expected, but the kayak itself was a different story. The K1 has two inflation ports, one at the base of the kayak and one at the hood. The pump quickly pumped both sections in just 4 minutes but not to an acceptable level. After inflating the kayak it felt a bit soft but I took it to the lake anyway, I was right just a few meters from shore and the kayak was ready to tip over. I brought it back to the ground and used the hose from the hand pump and my lungs to fill it up (just a few puffs). Back at the lake everything was perfect. Bottom line - was it worth it? Yes. Even though I have to blow a little into the kayak to inflate it fully, it's still much better than fully inflating it manually. On the downside, it now deflates the seat and footrest just fine, but it doesn't deflate the kayak. general. The reason for this is that to deflate the kayak you have to remove the inflation valve which makes the new hole too big for the fittings provided which is disappointing. While emptying it isn't a big deal, it takes a long time to fully empty it and prepare it for return to the pouch. Since I've only used it once, I can't give a durability rating, so I've chosen a neutral rating. .
