This hiller works better than I thought on our fallen spruce beetles. The piece of metal at the end of the handle looks like it might come loose because it flexes a bit, but the screws hold up after a couple of weeks of casual use (just 4 hours?). The handle is too short for long-term use on fallen logs (my back is starting to hurt), but it works well on really infested trees. Recently killed, less infested trees take too much work to remove the bark, but I'm glad there are fewer and I can store firewood easily and safely without splitting or double covering.
