I bought this as a wifi extender so I can get a stable signal in my workshop. My house is a two story brick and the Wi-Fi signal is notoriously poor if you try to break into the brick. I mainly use Apple products and my Airport Extreme works fine indoors and in the basement, but there really isn't much signal outside of the house. I've tried the Airport Express as an extension but rarely got more than a few bars and mostly nothing. So I decided to give it a try. True to the hype, I got it up and running in less than 3 minutes. Note that the Wi-Fi setup will ask you what you want to name it. By default, a separate network is set up using your network name plus (_almond). I have chosen to use only my network name. Went to my store with my iPhone and iPad. Voila - five bars. Great sign. My shop is about 50 feet from the back of the house and kitchen, and here I have almonds on my windowsill. So I can give enthusiastic reviews in the afternoon. Over time we will see how atmospheric conditions affect the signal. Great little device with a completely intuitive user interface!
