Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Audio Quality with Silverback Speaker Wire by Sewell - Includes Silverback Banana plugs, 15 ft. by James Roper

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I'm a senior broadcast engineer and these cables have BAD connections despite their great copper

I've made literally thousands of cables, BNC, XLR, TRS, whatever (besides optical) - which really stinks, it goes the extra mile to buy lots of copper and find a crappy connector. I have a photo but I don't see where to upload it. If I find it I will upload it. Sewell's cheap ribbed outer shell comes off EVERY time you touch it. every time The specification of bananas is a little different - they're fluffy, very fluffy. I took out my old banana adapters and can't be compared - the old ones have to be pushed in hard. You always feel like you're about to fall out. I've had capacitive noise on quality Tannoy speakers and after trying everything but new cables (I was the submarine's navigation electronics technician - the hardest problem with any system is a bad cable) I finally found out that the cables are bad . Too much copper to fit my old adapters which have a proper double mount perfectly spaced - they are single which makes them even more sketchy as they are loose to begin with. Very very disappointed - I would suggest buying a Lemon but the construction and copper is an odd mix of good and bad quality. I scrapped a banana, probably because it was dangling in the speaker, and the banana clip is really cheap, as is the outer casing. STRANGE! How much is a good connector to pull on all that SEWELL copper?!
