Incredible change in sound

I thought using cables instead of wires "might" improve the sound of my new speakers. Yes, I know that cables are also wires. But the fact that they were constructed this way prevents the wire from corroding which increases continuity. I was amazed at the results, that would be an understatement. I wondered if this was the same system I was listening to. Yes, it has been improved so much. This separated the little fuzzy tones I got with 14 gauge wire. Now it sounds like I'm sitting in front of…

Flexible speaker cords, banana plugs could be tighter.

Bought these to replace the #18 zip wire we used on our old speakers when we upgraded our stereo. We were looking for something ready. Sewell's speaker wire and Silverback speaker wire with Silverback banana plugs 15 feet seemed to be reasonably priced and received good reviews. I've been using banana corks for years but have made my own. I like the heavier but more flexible handling of these cables, but I had to tighten most of the connectors because not only were the screws holding the wire…

Flexible speaker cords, banana plugs could be tighter.

Purchased to replace the #18 Lightning cable we used on our old speakers when upgrading our stereo system. We were looking for pre-made speaker wire and this Sewell Silverback Speaker Wire with Silverback Banana Connectors 15ft seemed to be a fair price and had good reviews. I like the heavier but more flexible handling of these cables, but I had to tighten most of the connectors because not only were the screws holding the wire in…

Great cables, but banana plugs are not.

I bought longer lengths to halve and double to bi-amp my Snell D7 towers. The quality of the cable and insulation is excellent. My complaint about Sewell Silverback banana plugs. First, the metal sleeve that attaches to the banana plug is very easy to loosen and difficult to tighten by hand without breaking the arcuate ends of the plug. Second, the banana plug itself isn't isolated at all, so ask about that when it comes to signal curvature and ground potential. Third, I've found that after a…

  • Not sure

I've made literally thousands of cables, BNC, XLR, TRS, whatever (besides optical) - which really stinks, it goes the extra mile to buy lots of copper and find a crappy connector. I have a photo but I don't see where to upload it. If I find it I will upload it. Sewell's cheap ribbed outer shell comes off EVERY time you touch it. every time The specification of bananas is a little different - they're fluffy, very fluffy. I took out my old banana adapters and can't be compared - the old ones have
