For heaven's sake, buy a modem/router NOW! If I had switched after my starting price had expired, it would have paid for itself. Anyway, I was going to wait before posting my review, but I'm excited. If something goes wrong and I need to change it later, I will. I've read all the reviews where people said they had setup issues and I wasn't expecting escalation, but all I had to do was plug it in and go to the xfinity activation page listed in the manual , and after I entered the xfinity activation code, sent to my phone, my computer showed "Setting up your gateway, this may take ten minutes" with a spinning circle. About 15 minutes later I was going to call comcast but decided to just open a new tab and see if it loaded and it did! After that, all I had to do was go to the router and set up the Wi-Fi network. My devices didn't connect automatically, but all I had to do was turn Wi-Fi off and back on on the devices and they connected using my old security key, which I re-set in the new router. No mobile app or call. Comcast was generally needed. There is no difference in speed either. BUT it will be soon. After reading another person's feedback who suggested this, I will try to downgrade my internet plan from performance to launch performance. (I'm the only one in my family, do I REALLY need 120 Mbps?) At this point, my bill will be less than HALF what it was before. I can get angry for waiting. I just think of all the things I could have done with three hundred more dollars in my pocket if I had done it six months ago!
