Review on Brother DS700D Compact Duplex Scanner by Andrew Burnside

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This scanner is a nightmare

I would never recommend this scanner. It's a nightmare to use. Compact? So what? If you don't have it (at all), you have even more free space. To scan? With it you can scan almost anything that could be scanned "without a scanner". You can spend days calibrating it, but you can't align the papers when scanning. Approximately 100 pages scanned in one year of use. Each page was scanned 3-5 times to be at least reasonably readable. There is simply no way to flatten the paper. Good luck scanning 20 pages to a PDF. This requires a lot of preparation and you will be very disappointed if page 18 of 20 jams due to misalignment. It has a one-page feed (which I knew about before I bought it), but it doesn't help with paper alignment at all. Save time and money and get a regular one.

Pros
  • Powered by included USB cable - no battery or outlet required
Cons
  • Not the best
