I think this kit is a great idea. I'm a big eater, but I'm also learning when to set boundaries. I've seen my friends try to put tandems on top of stacked 2 x 6 boards only for the top boards to slide off. You could do it, but what's your time worth in the end? I've also come to realize that it's just frustrating to keep trying to save money and speed up a project. Additionally, trying to make everything out of wood will result in small parts of the ramp breaking across the grain. Or some dado cuts and other time consuming tasks. I hope you enjoy this set and save time. By the way, the "missing piece" is inside the block. After looking at the various kits here I figured this would be the most reliable as the type of rocker (Anderson) would break in half or knock out their pads. I also like the idea of putting a stopper on the wheels on the raised side that won't slide on the boards. Update: Assembling the kit went very smoothly and quickly last night. Since mine are designed for tandem, they are quite heavy. It was easier for me to carry the bottom two boards by the handle and the top one in the other hand. I'm still glad I bought it. I'll try them out once I'm done repacking the bearings. Updated 05/01/21. They slip all over us quite often when we try to put them on. The solution for me is to drive the pipe I'm using (1/2" hard hose to release my hitch hooks) into the ground behind the boards. Other than that they work fine and are easy to store.
