Review on Phanteks Eclipse P600S Hybrid Silent and Performance ATX Chassis - Tempered Glass, Dual System Support, PWM Hub, Sound Dampening Panels- Anthracite Grey by Seth Hogate

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good case choice.

Quality case. The construction is solid. As in; metallic, powerful, solid. It's not the lightest case you can find, but it's nice. There are no sharp edges that I found and there is plenty of room to work inside (I'm a 6ft 3in male with very large hands). The padding for soundproofing inside the case is also of high quality and feels good. It's also pretty tight. The tempered glass side panel is solid and the hinges used are very stable. The magnets it uses to close are pretty strong too. It also comes with a front USB-C I/O panel, which was one of the reasons I bought it. The assembly in the case was easy. Disassembling the case was easy and straightforward. And all the necessary materials were in the suitcase. More than enough material for everything you want to do over the course of I wish it only were with the GPU Riser cable as this is the only part missing in this case for the vertical GPU mount (all other parts are included) ). the fans you have and what you want to do with them, and it's the perfect place for easy connection. There are ample pathways for wiring, and the pre-attached zip ties were more than enough. In this case, it was easy for me to deal with the wiring. I think that's the bulk of the medium turret options, but I've only used 5 or 6 hulls in my entire life. It uses a sliding plate to route wires from front to back instead of a regular grommet. I haven't decided yet if I like this look or not. It's pretty easy to use, just not sure about the aesthetics yet. Performance: In this case, I tried both AIO and Air Cooler for my CPU. In no case did I have any temporary problems during the stress tests. The top and front panels have a removable panel that is attached with magnets. In my personal stress tests, turning it on didn't increase the temperature on my AIO, and I saw a 2 degree Celsius rise in air temperature. The front also opens partially if you don't want to take it off, and this seems to have mitigated the rise in air temperature (although 2°C is within the margin of error for my room). My personal opinion in this case is that airflow is good. As for its calming properties; I used 4 140mm 3000RPM PWM fans for testing. At a speed of around 500 rpm, almost nothing can be heard. There is a slight spike in noise at 1000rpm, but it was very slight, almost imperceptible to me. Even at 1500 rpm it seems quiet to me. It wasn't until 2000 rpm that I started to hear the fans too much. At 100% 3000 RPM, the fans are still noisy beasts (they're actually made for servers); but compared to more open cabinets without sound insulation I would estimate the sound difference to an open cabinet to be around 55%. I don't have a dBa tester to be honest, so I can't give any specifics here, this is just my personal opinion. Finally, the packaging it came in was very good. There was no case movement in the box. They used high quality dense foam on all sides. And the cardboard for the box itself was thick, dense and of high quality. Very safe in the box. TL; DR – The body is strong, it has weight. Working inside is easy. Soundproofing works. It has good airflow. Has good aesthetics. I wish a vertically mounted GPU adapter cable was included. A very good case. I recommend to everyone. Edit 9/20/2019: Edit to add that it's been 6 months and I've done 2 cleanings of my case since purchase. One was to simply pop open the side panel and quickly remove the front panel with compressed air. Since everything is held together with magnets, it was extremely easy to do a basic opening and wipe/clean the case in place without having to disconnect any cables. Ease of cleaning is also a big plus in this case.

Pros
  • Includes GPU anti-slack bracket and vertical GPU mounting bracket (vertical cable sold separately). Support for two systems (ITX upgrade kit sold separately)
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
