Overall this is a good little tank for a bit of aquascaping or shrimp keeping but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners as the cons outweigh the pros. Disadvantages: - The supplied filter is tiny and not sufficient for a densely planted or well-stocked aquarium; it's still a decent option for shrimp and minimalist aquascapes; - the light is not strong enough for aquascaping; it must either be supplemented by another additional lamp with the same output or be completely replaced; - The glass lid that comes with the kit is too big leaving no room to install equipment, even a heater or a small canister filter from the same manufacturer (interestingly this is a new lid design as the Shrimp King tankset is the same manufacturer I used before bought a few years ago had a much more feature friendly lid and hinges); - not a book promised in the description (it's probably an entry level book so not much use but if you promise something shouldn't you keep it?) PROS: - large size for small shrimp, such as red cherry shrimp ; - thick transparent glass; - comes with a leveling mat - easy to clean thanks to rounded edges;
