Almost impossible to pull them tight enough to keep them from spinning. 3 spun and broke within the first 2 miles. I tried tightening the rest a bit, but all but two broke the ratchet when I finished my 5-mile hike. Basically I would consider them disposable (especially since I ended up having to remove them with a screwdriver because the ratchets were destroyed), making them quite expensive compared to traditional chains. Would have been 1 star but extra stars for customer service which was great and very responsive.
