I will be using taps and dies mainly to clean damaged threads and I think one set will do the trick but I am not sure it will work fine for cutting new threads in metal. The taps and dies appear to be well made and finished, but the two knobs are not very well made. The jaws of the T-handle wrench are misaligned and the jaws of the bar wrench are misaligned and the threads of the adjustable clamp are too coarse to securely clamp the square end of the tap. . The rod wrench's fixed clamp came loose, but I'm hoping a little tightening on its threaded handle will fix that. I think the set will work for my purposes, at least for now, but I doubt the wrenches will withstand the force required to cut new threads into metal parts. I also find the product description a bit misleading. Although the description describes the set as "comprehensive" including "large" and "fine" sizes, it is clear from the components listed that the description is inaccurate. It has the coarse sizes I need, but anyone who needs fine threads for metric sizes will be disappointed.
