I have read many reviews and I want to start by saying there is certainly a lot of confusion about these roasters. We bought this Easter 22 sqm. because he cooks more food than the other 22 qt. roaster. I don't know if that's true, but that's what he says. We received it on time (delivery in 2 days) and in perfect condition. I've had a roaster before that burned two turkeys before throwing it away so didn't want to try again. My husband hunts and kills a lot of wild boar so we have tons of natural pork all the time. He wanted me to try frying a few whole pieces so he doesn't have to cut them so hard. He carefully cleans these animals so that the meat is always good. Yesterday we got a brazier, today we fried two large spatulas in it. I washed and dried the meat and then rubbed both pieces with it. I took the reviewer's advice and gave up after the first hour. The recommended value was 350, which I started with and reduced it to around 280. It's a bit hard to tell exactly from the dial, so I was just guessing. The two arms were very large and filled the pot, but not so high that they touched the lid. I never reached a climax. The total cooking time was 4.5 hours, the meat fell off the bone. The pork is usually quite juicy so all I can say is yes it was juicy and very tasty. It actually browned on top so I think it may have browned the turkey. I wanted to try this before Thanksgiving, so this was my test run. So far, so good. I wish I could give this product five stars but I'm 61 and sad to see that products are getting cheaper and have a much shorter shelf life than in my early years in the kitchen. I expect and want better quality, but I can't get it. Sad but true. This device is lightweight and yes, the pan changed color after the first use. I didn't burn or overheat the block. It's cheaply built. aluminum cover. believe nothing else. The inner shell has no rims around the edges except where you lift it to lift it. Yes, he can cut you if you're not careful. Wash thoroughly. The whole pot didn't fit in my sink to wash, but I was able to lean on the two handles at the front and back of the sink to keep the fountain fully in the sink. I filled it with hot soapy water and soaked it, then gently brushed it. He's discolored. I expected that based on the reviews. I can live with it. I do not like it. One side says this device is HEAVY. No, that is not so. I want it to be like this. It's heavier than some, especially Hamilton Beach. The brazier smelled for about 10 minutes. It is in order. A tip: Wipe off any imprints or other residue before use, otherwise they may burn onto the outer coating. I don't know, I'm just guessing because it gets hot. And it's not that hot. It's just hot. Don't touch him while he's doing his thing. Common sense. I have a marble countertop but there is NO heat under the unit. That's what excites me. It's more expensive to build a quality car, but it'll last a long time, and we wouldn't be so quick to throw it in a heap. How much garbage can this world take? So that's my complaint, but it's a very common complaint for a lot of products these days. I don't expect this roaster to last 10 years with moderate use and I plan to use it fairly often. If there is one who wants it, I would like to know. However, this roster served me well today. Thanks Easter
