We bought this green helmet 3 months ago for our year and a half year old. If I remember correctly, it had a head circumference of 48.5 cm and it fitted well. Since the handle on the back can adjust the fit to his head, I assume he'll be able to use it for some time. It must be comfortable because there were days when he refused to take it off! And with others, he just wanted it, whether on a running bike or not. Even saved my forehead when I rolled down the concrete terrace steps a bit :). He has yet to test his strength by falling, but he coped well with the baby's treatment. They might seem a little big on his head, but they don't feel heavy for him or us. The only thing that really worries me are the tracks that get under your ears. After taking the time to adjust the straps and place these pieces under the ears as they should be, they always slide towards the buckle. It may not be critical, but they must stay in place for the helmet to fit properly. Also remember that the straps are not attached to the helmet but can slide through it - so if your child is like me and wants to put the helmet all the way on their head they can do so. Perhaps all helmets are like this, but combined with small pieces of plastic sliding down the strap, this can result in the helmet not fitting as securely as desired. However, for the $17 we spent, it seems like a decent deal. The bonus is that the colors are bright, making it easier to spot.
