I've never applied tape this way, but it was very easy with a hair dryer. I have to say it was easy once I found out I could just glue it where I needed the coating and fold it back to cut the welds with scissors. Don't put it on and try to use a razor because you think you can be gentle enough to ONLY cut the tape. Sad. The paper template didn't work for me on the bends either. This material is quite malleable when heated to flex like the seat springs in the picture. I originally taped the downtube but didn't like the way it looked and was able to take it off and reuse it to finish off one of the seatstays. Such sweet treats.
