Review on ☕ Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker: Brewing 1-3 Cups of Delicious, Bitter-Free Coffee by Courtney Huggins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

About 2 years ago I HATED coffee

So far I like the versatility of the Aeropress. I'll start by saying I hate coffee about 2 years ago. I was in Italy for a few weeks on business and found out when I was in Rome. So I decided to try espresso again in Italy. The difference was day and night. Even the espresso machine was light years better than what you could find at Starbucks or other chain stores. So I decided to give coffee another chance. Tried espresso in many places. Small cafes etc. Most small cafes and specialty places worked decently but not equal. Only one place was close and that is 4 hours away from where I live. Join my quest to create your own mug. Well, I wasn't ready to spend a few thousand to buy all the necessary equipment to brew an amazing cup of espresso. I started with a knife grinder as a gift, switched to a manual grinder with ceramic burrs, and now I have a mid-range to budget electronic coffee grinder that does the job well. Again, I don't want to spend a few hundred on a pathetic excuse for an espresso machine. One day one of my French glass presses exploded on me (luckily I had it in my sink as I've heard this can happen if I pour hot water) and I was looking for another option as I had another option with a mug would have. since I had another large (albeit stainless steel) French Press. Get to know Aeropress. I've only had it for a few weeks and I have to say I'm very impressed. I love that you can brew strong espresso like a regular cup. The paper filter catches the oils that spoil the aroma and flavor a bit, but it's still a very good cup. I say espresso strength, not espresso, because it is NOT espresso. The flavor is there, the strength is there, but there isn't as velvety a flavor or crema, which isn't surprising given the pressure that a good espresso machine creates. Now I would say this is a great addition to a French Press if you are used to this type of coffee. The main reason I say this is because it is primarily a one-shot brewer. You can probably get away with brewing for two in a number of ways. You can always brew a strong espresso and add water to make two cups, or brew one at a time. But not only that, I definitely recommend other brewing methods. Benefits: Cleaning is EASY, remove the filter basket/lid, push the plunger all the way into the jar to extract the grounds, remove the plunger, rinse, repeat the process. No, glass doesn't break and plastic is free of all the scary things people usually worry about when plastic comes into contact with hot liquid. Brew a great cup of coffee for a brewer's price Versatility - brew different types of coffee Plenty of recipes and information on the web for brewing with a coffee maker. Ideal for on the go, since nothing can break. Cons: Best suited for preparing one serving (only one size and style available). in stock and soon flexible plastic that will not be damaged during travel)
