Review on πŸ”Œ Tripp Lite Null Modem Serial RS232 Modular Adapter Kit: DB9F to RJ45F - P450-000 by Daniel Ogbebor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The old one works great, the new one doesn't (fake Tripp Lite). Ordered again, works.

Bought the set in 2015 and it works well, unfortunately I lost one of the two pieces, I had to buy another set. I used them to set up old Dell, SMC switches. Some people point to the pinout, but the pin is fine. For this to work, it must be used in pairs. So if you plug it into one end of the Cisco console cable, it's not a null modem cable and it won't work. For me Dell E6520 - I am using a USB to serial port --> Null1 --> Ethernet cable --> Null2 --> Dell switch. If you are using a USB to serial port, make sure your communications application selects the correct communications port. Make sure the speed, parity, stop bit, and bit rate are set correctly. It works out. ======== Updated 4/27/2016 I received a null modem and they came in modular kit form, not assembled. This is not a null modem, they need to be assembled. The one that wasn't in the bag was 1/2, I didn't lose. It comes assembled and ready to use. This one returns. ======== Updated 4/30/2016 I'm a guest, he's not coming back, KnowU sold a part that isn't an original Tripp Lite part. They responded quickly to the RMA but it wasn't sent back for free, not worth sending back. Could this be your practice? Anyway I have ordered another one from Revain which is sold by Revain. It came in a Tripp Lite bag and is fully assembled. Tested and working, I love this product again.
