I'm not sure what null modem characteristics these adapters have.

I'm not sure what null modem specification these adapters use, but the pinout doesn't match any configuration I know of. Each one is wired differently and none of them work. I should be able to replicate them, but they're certainly not null modem.

seems to work for my use. I use this at work to connect my laptop to the charger's null modem port from 30 feet away. The program we use is buggy, but I believe in these adapters.

Good for daisy chaining Dell servers and devices with thin LAN cables in between.

I purchased two pairs of these adapters to use for reinstalling, configuring and servicing Dell servers and storage devices. I carry a USB adapter with two serial ports, I use a couple of these to connect the USB adapter to the serial ports on the target hardware. I bought super thin network cables and I can walk 20 feet from the Dual Head Unit without sitting on it to adjust. Unfortunately one of them stopped working and I bought another pair to have a spare. The old one works great, the new one doesn't (fake Tripp Lite). Ordered again, works.

Bought the set in 2015 and it works well, unfortunately I lost one of the two pieces, I had to buy another set. I used them to set up old Dell, SMC switches. Some people point to the pinout, but the pin is fine. For this to work, it must be used in pairs. So if you plug it into one end of the Cisco console cable, it's not a null modem cable and it won't work.
