Review on 🧊 Denso 471-1632 A/C Compressor: Efficient Cooling Solution for Optimal Performance by Andrew Roll

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great but broke after 4 years.

Purchased in July 2017: Fits 2010 Toyota Corolla S 1.8L. Supplied with compressor oil and two O-rings for high and low side, simply loosen the belt tensioner on the alternator, remove and replace the old compressor. The air conditioning repair shop charged $1,200 plus tax to replace the compressor and dryer ($16). Buy gauges and a vacuum pump and you can get the job done for $500, including R134A refrigerant. It's been over two months and everything is fine. Much luck! Update July 4, 2021: Compressor failure! Suddenly made a loud constant clicking noise and the air conditioner stopped cooling. No warning signs, worked great in the Florida heat. I took the belt off and the clutch is hard to turn. The store is asking $1,600 to replace the compressor and condenser. I will be buying this compressor again as well as a Denso condenser as I have just replaced the dryer for the first time. So I'm in this AC now for about $900. I have used pressure gauges and a vacuum pump on my split air conditioner and other cars so it was a worthwhile investment for me.
