First off, it's a Category 7 cable, not a certified ($$) Category 7 cable, but it does the job. Currently replacing all switches (up to gigabit) and LAN cables with this Category 7 cable made from a combination of Category 5, 5e and 6. They say Cat. 6a is all you need, but I figured I'd go for the top category if I was going to do all the work of replacing all my LAN cables. Also, my LAN cables run alongside a lot of power cords and near my wireless network, so Category 7 foil/metal shielding sounded like a good idea. I am currently waiting for a new router to arrive, when I found out that my 8 year old router is the bottleneck in my network, according to our data plan with our ISP, it only handles 25Mbps downloads of 155Mbps additional cable, to cut it in half to see the inside. The photos are posted and one of the wires inside is not fully foiled but as the other three cables are fully foiled the one that is not fully foiled should be fine. However, this suggests that this cable isn't perfect, but for the price, it's a pretty good deal. I was looking at Category 7 certified cable and you are looking for 249.00 for 100 feet. I have 100 feet. Here is much less, the question of quality is well balanced with the price at least.
