After installing the new pump, rack and all new tubing, I thought it wise to install an in-line filter to keep the fluid free of debris. As you can see in the pictures, once installed, an average of 1 drop started leaking in 2 seconds. It was leaking all over the power steering and air conditioning belts and they also need to be replaced. At first I thought these were the brackets that came with the filter so I took them off and attached other brackets. It had no effect on the current. When I looked closely I saw that it was leaking from the seam where the filter was pressed with a metal band. There's an extra O-ring included, but who wants to mess with something that had to be right from the start? After reading the review where the reviewer described how the filter split in half and destroyed their pump, it became clear that this was the case. is a serious design and/or manufacturing defect.
