We used to have to use a rock or heavy weight to open our self-closing gates. Pretty uncomfortable, especially when wearing products. when the stone/weight slides. This doorstop is quick and easy to set up and works like a charm. After that, the doorstop is removed by gently pressing the lever. No more bending over to place and remove a stone/weight. The only issue is that the supplied screws weren't long enough to securely cut into the wood of our gate, but that's not the product's fault, it's the gate's design. Gates. Nothing a couple of longer screws from the hardware store wouldn't fix. INSTALLATION TIP: Before installing, unfold the doorstop and press it against the door and floor to ensure the tip of the foot touches the floor properly. Hubby originally set it too low and the leg angle wasn't vertical enough so the rubberized tip didn't "grip" properly and the door slid. The repositioning made all the difference.
