I am a potter and bought this because it would be ideal for me to print letters and numbers on clay. In pottery, you use thick, flat-bristled brushes to apply underglaze paint the same way you apply silkscreen paint to walls, furniture, or anything else. I'm sure these stencils for kids are fine with fine point pens and markers, but they don't make for a real stencil and if that's what you're going to do I'd discourage you. The stencil plastic is too thick for the flat bristles to get through the cutout onto the clay. It was a disaster. I ended up having to create my own letters and numbers in Photoshop and order a custom stencil from Etsy to get the job done. I probably donate them to a thrift store or something. I can't think of anything I would ever use them for.
