I like white. White reflects the sun's rays. The black coating absorbs the sun's heat, causing the tire under the coating to get hotter. The elastic band on the back helps keep the cover on the hoop. The cover fits my 75 R15 tires and looks great. The cap was a bit difficult to put on, but the snug fit should help keep it on the hoop. I gave it a 4 for not having a strap attached to the cover on the back to hold the left and right side firmly against the tire and secure it to the tire changer. Maybe I can attach grommets. One on each side and then I could use a bungee to attach both sides of the cover to each other and to the spare tire mount. This will prevent the lid from blowing off.
