If you expect the same optical quality as regular binoculars, you will be disappointed. Think of them as a video camera that, given its form and function, lends itself to binoculars. Night vision is excellent at short distances (less than 50 meters). Average at medium distances (50-100 yards). Underperforms over 100 yards. At over 100 meters, the built-in illumination is too dim to give the image sensor enough light to produce anything but a grainy image. This is a significant limitation for some hunters. At dusk and dawn, these binoculars give a good picture at a pretty decent distance (300 meters). But in complete darkness at more than 100 meters this is doubtful. Features like ranging and Wi-Fi ballistic data sharing are amazing. Overall I like these binoculars more for day use than night use, but it depends a lot on the ranges you need.
