I didn’t like the fact that you can unscrew the knob all the way off, but later I realized some people would like this feature taking the knob off to prevent vehicle theft. I just wanted to disconnect the battery while working on electricals.

This item is a must have for all collector car owners. It completely disconnects your battery from the car so you need not worry about 50 year, 60 year old or older wiring in your valuable collector car while it is unattended and in storage. You can still have a charger maintainer on the battery to keep it charged but without the battery connected to the car's wiring. No worries about short circuits while you are away.

Lack of contact doesn't allow the full juice to reach the car so it's a paperweight for me. Manually created my own which works properly. Can't recommend this item to anyone.

Significantly undersized compared to my battery posts. Had to really force and wiggle it onto the battery shaving off some lead and only getting it in 80%. My cable clamp was able to squeeze together enough to be tight on the male end of the switch but most would not tighten down this much. All this being said it works as intended

Cheap worthless pot metal. Went on okay, but broke when taking it off to change battories. Very thin around post connecrion. Unknown metal that I can break off pieces off with a pair of pliers.

Works great and easy to install. I had previously bought a different style that involved needing to drill mounting holes. This clever design eliminates drilling any holes at all.simply loosen the battery cable.install this on to the post and reattach the cable to the new post on this device. Much easier done than reading this review. Good idea to clean the posts while the cable is already off and save any future problems.

This one seemed a little more expensive but also a bit better quality. I am pleased a paid a little more, it is worth the small premium. I use it in my RV to allow me to isolate the house batteries when necessary.

I use it on my car that I only use in summer during winter so that battery does not discharge due to electronics. Thanks for attention.

This is an option it there is an electrical draw on your battery that drains your battery over night, it will disconnect your battery with a twist, this can also be a theft deterant device !

Good product materials. Electrically is not the best design, so you might have voltage drop.So the material, more like a brass, selection is great. The problem is that a little collar (underneath the green knob) on the top must send all the current through the bolt to the threads to the bottom plate. So the big contact area on the battery cables are greatly reduced (high current density) to screw threads which are small. This can cause contact melting and burnout and is a good reason if you…

I purchased this device to isolate the battery of a large tractor that had been draining the battery between occasional uses. I was concerned that the switch would handle the high starting currents of the diesel engine. It appears to pass the high currents with no observable heating, and I am highly satisfied with the operation.
