Review on πŸš— Enhance Vehicle Performance with BBK Throttle Body - 73mm for Ford by Raymond Gray

Not the easiest setup, but worth it!

Ford F150 3.5L Ecoboost 2016. Bought a BBK 1822 to replace the normal one which broke down after 123,000 miles. Removing the old one was quick and easy. The BBK installation consisted of two parts. The first part, tightening the bottom bolts with an Allen wrench, was a chore. There isn't much space and it's blind. Inserting the tool into the screw head was very difficult and time consuming. I don't know if anyone at BBK will read this but I'm hoping they consider providing socket head screws instead of the supplied hex head screws. Socket head screws would greatly reduce digging time. This is an expensive, high-performance part that makes it easier for us to use screws. The second part, reinstall the hose onto the throttle body. It doesn't line up with the edge because the BBK is wider and sticks out further. It takes a lot of effort to move it far enough to center it on the lip. You just have to deal with it. Keep trying. This will continue. There is little else that can be done about it. That's it. So what I thought would take 30 minutes to install turned out to be closer to 60 minutes. It also breaks your back as you lean over the side and in front of the truck trying to tighten the bolts and line up the hose. Otherwise a no-brainer. All that has been said, it was worth it. I can really tell the difference in performance and sound. It's certainly more responsive. Like I have it in "Sport" mode all the time. I definitely recommend this OEM throttle body.
