I don't really understand Chamberlain as this part seems to have been designed to eventually break. A small piece of plastic that must withstand the lifting torque of a garage door for tens of thousands of cycles. What did you think? And then Chamberlain stopped making that part. I owe a great debt of gratitude to the supplier who still makes it available. This piece at a fraction of the cost saved me from having to buy a brand new garage door opener. So yes, the value for money is amazing. In fact, they could take double the price and happily pay. The spare part is still plastic, which was not clear from the photo or the description. I'm not sure if they can be cast aluminum or if that would damage the movement in any way. But if it breaks again in a few years I might just buy another one if they're still available. Thank you seller for picking up this part which has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
