This rating is for the newer version with triangle arrows. The bold numbering and graphics on this compass are great for old eyes. But it has to be absolutely flat to work and is not suitable for a wrist compass or even a handheld compass. If you can take an inverted compass chart, you'll have to look at it directly or from an awkward angle to see the bearing hidden beneath the bezel. It is best to use the reverse angle. I need a wrist compass to operate the paramotor. This Suunto is not. I decided to keep my KanPas dive compass which has a 3mm capsule thickness but allows for various wrist mounting positions.
