Review on 🔌 UGREEN USB Ethernet Adapter: Fast Gigabit RJ45 LAN Converter for Nintendo Switch, MacBook, Surface Pro, and More by Jay Ngo

Purchased specifically for use with Nintendo Switch although it can be used for many other applications. So my review is mainly about this adapter in connection with switch. I was going to buy another UGREEN USB 3.0 Gigabit model but I saw that this is the latest version so I went with this one. So far, so good. Worked immediately with the Switch docked. It's long enough to plug into the USB 3.0 port on the back of the dock near where you plug in the HDMI cable and power cord, and still close the door to keep it looking clean. (Nintendo is known to have for one reason or another discontinued that rear USB port as 2.0 even though it supports 3.0.) So getting a USB 3.0 adapter is just a future test to see when/if it will will change the rear connector. Regardless, this adapter will work on any USB port you plug it into. Another fairly well-known thing is that all NICs seem to keep the switch's network active even in sleep mode. From what I've read, this just keeps the switch consistently warm or even hot, which is why most recommend unplugging either the adapter from the USB port or the ethernet cable from the adapter (easier) after use. I have not checked if this adapter is an exception to this rule. If it helps, I can tell from the constant plugging and unplugging of the switch that the ethernet port is working smoothly. Not so tight that it's difficult to disconnect the ethernet cable, but this can vary between different cables, so YMMV's fit and finish is solid. It looks very solid as it has a metal body unlike the old model and it definitely feels like it could take some abuse. Have been using it consistently for about 2 weeks and seems like a great product for the price and for my use case. Will update if anything changes, but definitely recommend this adapter for use with the Switch!
