How is it possible that my five year old $70 AT100E sounds cleaner, brighter and more reliable than this $170 cartridge? The AT-MV95ML sounds flat and muddy. However, it is warmer and more powerful than the AT100E. To narrow it down, if I only had to keep one of the two cartridges I would go with the AT100E. The only advantage of the AT-VM95ML is the standard Microline stylus. And while the AT100E comes with a standard elliptical stylus, it can be swapped out for a Shibata or Microline stylus for more accurate rendering. However, avoid this cartridge.
