Almost perfect for Prius Gen 3 sockets (clamps don't go all the way to full seat - just 1-2mm will do). However, once installed, it fits tight enough that it doesn't move when plugged in or unplugged from USB ports, so there are no ill effects. The rest works great. I didn't have an extra outlet, so I plugged it into the cigarette lighter socket. I never plug high drain items into my cigarette lighter socket so there's no risk of blowing a fuse/circuit, but I advise against it if you're ever going to plug anything higher than a phone charger into your cigarette lighter. To connect it to the lighter wires, I cut 1/4 inch insulation from just one side of each contact wire and wrap it tightly around the base of each wire, leaving the outside of each wrap insulated since the lighter wires are very close together. First you need to confirm the + and - wires. After that I reassembled the cigarette lighter and plugged it in. Both the cigarette lighter and the USB port appeared immediately when I turned on the car. I put the panel back in and it's perfect. Charged with a current of 2.1A (tested with a multimeter).
