I bought my axolotl aquarium on the recommendation of a pet store. It was a desperate purchase because one of my axolotls hasn't eaten in 2 weeks since we bought him. Unfortunately the leaves didn't arrive on time but I was able to use them on my other axolotl. Lucy began to develop cottonhead (cotton swelling on the gills). I have found that this happens when the water in the aquarium is too warm. I added an aquarium fan to keep the water cool and an almond leaf to treat it (recommended to help against fungus). After 2 days she looked better, the cotton in her gills disappeared and Lusya felt better. The water has darkened, of course, but that's normal when the leaves helped.
