Revainrating 2 out of 5

Doubtful. Less than sixty dollars

I am VERY skeptical about the quality of this knife in this price range. I bought it as a present for my customer. Pretty terrible as a gift as it looks like useless Chinese crap (certainly not read as an "expensive $65 knife"). Firstly it only came in a cheap black generic box, not a nice floral embossed image that has been posted by other reviewers. out. Second, there is no stamp on the blade, no booklet in the box describing the quality (Damascus steel) of the steel, composition, hardness, blade angle, care instructions - nowhere is even a manufacturer's name. It could just be a cheap, fully flashy, non-working knife that you can get in exchange so everyone knows the recipient. If you're spending good money to impress someone with this knife as a gift, you're in for a total disappointment. There are other half price knives that do this much better. Third, I have an actual folded Damascus steel blade and the pattern on this blade (which is nowhere near as good as the photo) looks laser engraved rather than folded - a common trick used on Chinese made knives, such as those here at Revain sold. Fourth, this isn't a full 8-inch knife - it's shorter by about 1/2 inch. They "collected". If you shop around Revain a little you will find many similar knives from different "manufacturers" which are really just the names of different dealers. If I didn't have to give this TODAY I would be sending it back.
