I got used to delicious whipped coffee years ago and the Farberware electric coffee maker has lasted 30 years and has been amazing. I tried a drip coffee maker when they first came out and god I didn't even come close to the delicious coffee that comes in Farberware. Yes, it was expensive, but worth the price, shelf life, and coffee flavor. When US companies started making their stuff overseas (cheap labor) my second purchase was fine at first since the US parts were used, but now I'm afraid to replace mine if I can. I could buy an American coffee maker. There's a group of veterans who make one and have heard it's ALL stainless steel. You need to keep your Farberware cookware really clean and there is a tiny bulge at the bottom which once covered in coffee stains will affect the time and/or just stop working. I haven't tried the newer model from Mexico, which is said to be of even worse quality. Many products that were once made in the US were much better before production was exported.
