You'll definitely have time between water changes since your pH won't drop into the mud after a few feedings. My best advice is that a little makes a big difference. The recommended dose isn't really needed and is a little overkill as a little goes a long way. I put 3 teaspoons in a 125 gallon tank and I'm constantly buffering at 7.7 PH. I do weekly water changes and feed generously and have never had a problem.
