Review on 🎨 General Finishes High Performance Water Based Topcoat, Satin Finish - 1 Quart by Antonio Bacon

Hobby woodworker who has used various finishes over the years - lacquer, shellac, resins, oils etc. I have never written about any of these as they do what you would expect. However, this product, a water-based GF satin top coat, deserves a few words. It is very easy to apply, just make sure to stir and not shake the jar before use as it is a milk formula so it tends to separate a bit. Plastic spoons work great. Goes too easy. Brush, foam, rag, whatever - it balances out better than anything I can remember. Dries within an hour for the next coats (optional) and that's great. Finishing, for example, hard maple with just a few coats is excellent. Just wonderful. Very slight sheen, invisible in some angles and silky smooth, looks like it came out of the factory. If you are looking for a glossy finish then this is definitely not for you. But for certain furniture, gun butts, items where you want grain to be the star of the show, this material is absolutely perfect. Five stars.
