Review on High-Efficiency 4000W Power Electronic Regulator Controller by Erik Snyder
Works well, although smart people say it doesn't.
I don't know how long it will last but for now it works like a motor reduction gear on an unheated fan. The original switch failed and there was no replacement. I researched and found this device and decided to give it a try. Nothing to lose so I'm happy.
