Review on Ultra-Quiet Genie SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener - Model 3042-TKH, 140V DC Motor W/ Remotes, Console & Keypad by Adrian Hayes

I purchased this item as a replacement for Genie Silent Max 1000 that I had purchased and installed in 2012. I was not happy with the fact that my 2012 Genie Silent Max 1000 stopped working. I believe I had a slight power sure at the house and it must have fried the electrical control board on this unit. I looked at simply replacing the control board, but there was only about a $60.00 difference in the price of the board, compared to a new unit. So I decided just to buy a whole new unit. I only bought the same model from genie because I didn’t want to re-create the wheel with a new garage door opener. Otherwise I would not have purchased this unit again. I do not believe that a garage door opener should last only about six years. Nothing else within my home electrically failed that day of the power surge, just my genie silent max garage door opener. Hopefully this new one will last Longer than six years. I did plug it into a surge protector this time just in case.
