Review on Mount Projector Universal Projectors MI 604 by Raysean Forth

Doesn't work as well as a wall mount or with large projectors

B That's what the specs say mount can do 44pd process, but I would be very careful about setting anything more than say 25pd. I installed my Epson 5040UB with 24 pixels in a wall mount. I tried to fully extend my arm while holding onto the projector to see how it would support the weight. The arm flexed considerably, and no matter how hard I tightened the hex nuts, the arm flexed to the point where it looked like it would break or pull away from the wall. I pushed the extension all the way in and installed it using the shortest bracket length possible - luckily the projector still fits in that configuration. Even then there was a clear distraction. Part of the problem is the gap between the connection of the mount and the wall mount. Due to the small distance between the bracket and the wall bracket, the bracket may sag even when the nuts are tight. I inserted some heavy duty washers to fill the space (see picture) and strengthen the lever at the junction. Even with the washers, the lever will still sag, but to a lesser extent (see lever downward tilt in fig.). Thankfully, once you've compensated for play, tightened it and used the lens shift, you hopefully won't have to hold it for long. The bracket extensions were too short to reach my projector's widest mounting holes, so I had to use the center and front holes instead of the front and back holes, which would have given better balance. Even when fully installed, it feels very flimsy and not very reliable. The slightest touch will move it from its current position. This will probably work better with a smaller projector or when using it as a ceiling mount as it doesn't feel very stable due to its wall mount design.

Pros
  • 3-in-1 universal projector wall mount: 1st ceiling mount, 2nd ceiling mount with telescopic arm, 3rd wall mount
Cons
  • Large and bulky
