I bought this unit in case my Acura TSX was stolen and to get an insurance discount. Well, to tell you the truth, it works fine for the first two and a half months; after that it was a nightmare. The device was constantly connected and disconnected from the network. I've called tech support several times, they keep blaming the signal. Well if two months ago there was no signal in Virginia, Maryland and DC then this device is useless to me and anyone living in the greater DC area. 2nd Tear Technical Support should call me back to help me with this. We'll see how it goes. As far as I know, this device uses the AT&T network, which by the way has good coverage in the area where I live. If you are planning to spend $300 on this device I would suggest looking for another device as you will be sorry if you do. With this device running, search for your vehicle using the iPhone app or from your computer. You can also "plan a location", e.g. every 30 minutes, every 1 hour, 2.3 hours, etc. It uses a Google map to show your car's location, which is very accurate. This is a brief overview, but I hope it helps you make an informed decision. Update 03/20/2012 I received the replacement device 4 days ago. Let's see how it goes.
