Review on Pirelli Powergy 225/45 R17 94Y summer by Jnis Brveris ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

Apparently, these are tires for commercial vehicles with all their pluses and minuses. Wear-resistant but, oddly enough, not very noisy. It so happened that I came to the tire shop at the store to change shoes for summer tires, which I brought with me - Michelin from the directional rain series, the guys flatly refused to install, since the wear is such that the rubber needs to be changed, and in time it is already more than five years old. And only this model turned out to be in stock, although there was a fairly large selection under the order in three days. Persuaded to take. While rolling the first 500 km, on a dry road, the rubber is very noisy in the speed range from 30 to 90 km / h, compared to what it was before, on the other hand, the price of the former rubber is now 2.5 times higher! At speed, the rubber clearly loses noise, while the transverse cracks in the asphalt are generally invisible, like most asphalt patches. On a wet road, the noise is clearly less, the rubber keeps the road well, but it didn’t get into puddles in a crowd. Rubber reacts poorly to koleynlst. The rubber is clearly stiffer than what it was before. After a break-in around 500 km, the noise dropped sharply. Now the noise depends only on the quality of the asphalt pavement. A neighbor, sitting in my car, said that there was no rubber noise at all! In general, rubber is quite decent for the money.

Pros
  • Good grip on dry and wet pavement. Almost do not notice transverse seams and cracks, as well as patches.
Cons
  • Noisy depending on the quality of the asphalt.
