Sturdy and massive, but the eyecups have a plastic focus adjustment ring that breaks very easily if bumped - whether against the device closed - or extended. The plastic ring is under the outer rubber ring so you don't notice how thin and easy to break it is. We have had numerous equipment failures due to small impacts such as hitting railings or other objects. The strap that comes with these devices is so cheap that we had to replace it with a more durable Nikon option. All in all, if the focus ring wasn't so flimsy and the strap wasn't so cheap, these would be pretty solid devices.
