Great for water changes and cleans the substrate fairly well

I bought this product to make cleaning the substrate easier. I have a 75 gallon tank with lots of plants and I'm having a really hard time getting to the rotting food stuck between the wood. The suction power is enough for me to get pretty good results when I hit the substrate and wood. There is a small foam filter material in the plastic tube to protect the device motor. I'm not sure how well this device works with sand as the filter pad has moderately large pores. So far the device has worked flawlessly for my purposes.
