Review on Vastar Mobile Phone Mount Tripod Adapter - Universal Smartphone Tripod Holder, Black Cell Phone Mount Adapter by Joe Murphy

Not sure what to do with so many positive reviews. The product I received does not work at all with any of the mounts I have tried as the tripod mount thread is too small for the standard 1/4" tripod screw. Unfortunately, I threw away the packaging before checking if it could be mounted on a tripod, so it's non-returnable. It never occurred to me that the manufacturer would spoil something so elementary. At first I thought it might be a problem with the mounting hole threads, so I pulled out my 1/4" faucet and figured I'd clean the threads. But regardless of the size of the screw to mount it to, it's less than 1/4 inch to get the phone out of my Otterbox Defender and even then it barely fits. Not that fit matters if the clip doesn't attach to a standard tripod. Build quality seems fine, I'd probably give 3-4 stars if it actually fits my tripod, but build quality doesn't matter if the product is initially defective.
