Like other reviewers, I was initially happy with this humidifier, but after filling the tank the second time, water from this unit ran all over my floor. I removed the tank, filled it with water and placed it in a pan to check for leaks. The valve circled in the attached picture was of course constantly dripping. This is a valve that is opened by a float at the bottom of the unit when more water is needed below; it should be closed when the base is full. A leak will cause the base to overflow and leak out of the device. The valve is quite flimsy and clearly the weak link in this device. It's coming back and I don't recommend it.
